Behind!!

I was just organizing my July photos (tomorrow is August! really?), something I do at the end of every month and I tallied them up, I have taken over 2200 pictures this month!! What a busy month we have had. I guess it doesn't help that we added a new camera into the mix. Hmm I wonder how many I really took, I deleted a lot too.

So I have gotten really behind in the blog. Lots of exciting things have been happening.
Lets see:

:: the girls are finishing up 2 weeks of swimming lessons ::

:: we had a nice play date at our friend's new house ::

:: Sean's work truck needed some repairs, AGAIN! ::

::we spent and un-expected afternoon together as a family at the beach::

:: we found a new park, that is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon ::

:: the girls each got first place in the fair for their drawings ::

:: I got 6 firsts and 3 seconds on my photos in the fair ::

:: the girls were in the local parade riding their bikes, which we decorated ::

:: I got my dream camera and got to try it out on some fireworks ::

:: A Few Funny Words ::

Keira: Mom, I want to wear my zucchini (bikini) to swimming today!

Keira: I think we should get a veggie! (meaning budgie bird)

Keira (on making faces at her brother in while riding in the van) : Keeping Kaylum happy is hard work!! But I like it!!!

My Mom (on what the girls should wear to space day at swimming lessons): Well you could just bend over and go as Uranus!

Kaylum (after dropping his toy): Uh OH Uh Oh Uh Oh

And finally:

:: Kylie lost her second tooth!! ::

10 Months!

Happy 10 Months my beautiful boy! How time is flying, soon you will be a year old!

You are such an explorer these days and always on the go. There isn't much down time for you and naps aren't your favorite activity, unless it is your car seat. Only the high chair can hold you down! You learned to climb the stairs this month and will make a break for them any chance you can get. You are quite proud of yourself when you get to the top. You are learning to clap your hands and Marmie is teaching you "SO BIG". You have started making lots of noises and love to talk. You say Dada and sometimes it sounds like you are saying HI DAD! You can say Mama. And if I ask you if you want a MuM MuM cookie you say Mum Mum. There is also the No No that you can repeat back to us when you are getting into something you shouldn't be. Which is a lot of things! You like to play with our bedroom door. You stand up on it and walk back and forth opening and closing it. You never shut it tight and never get your fingers caught. You can also somehow open the pocket doors. I don't know how you do it.
You love food and your new favorite is vanilla yogurt. Today you had a little of my oatmeal for breakfast and liked that too. You love to taste anything we give you and wish that you could taste everything we eat! Soon you will be eating us out of house and home!

Summer Evening Walks

There is a coffee shop a few blocks from our house and we love to walk there in the evenings for a little treat for us all. In the summer they sell gelato. Yum.
I got a new camera this week, and have been busy snapping pictures. I have close to 800 since Monday!

The Cutest Thing

Kaylum was just sitting on the floor playing with an old cell phone. I was leaving a message for someone and when I looked to the side, he had the phone to his ear, smiling, and babbling away. I had a hard time not cracking up while leaving the message.
He is so smart! He doesn't put any of his other toys to his ear!

Baby You Can Drive My Car

On Friday afternoon we headed to the park for the girls to burn off some energy and to enjoy the sun. Kaylum fell asleep in the van again. I really wish he would nap like that in his crib!!
My sister joined us at the park and then we came home and the girls and her went through the sprinkler and when Sean got home we got him to air up their pool. I don't know how they go in that water. Its freezing!!
Kaylum was enjoying himself in Keira's little car. He even managed to move it around!

We had an early dinner as we were all starving, which was a good thing. Sean's on call again this week and he got called out at would have been our regular dinner time and we didn't see him til just after 9. That made a long day for him as he was out the door before 5:30am.

We rented the new Guitar Hero game and Sam and I put in a few hours after the girls went to bed and Sean snoozed on the couch. We will have to give it another try when my Dad comes over on Sunday. Yeah, new songs!! We are really board of the others!

Berries!

Thursday morning didn't start out too well. I had Keira running into my room while I was still sleeping, saying the water was at the top of the toilet. I told her not to use it and I would fix it when I got up. Not too much longer later, I hear a flush and then a frantic run into my room. MOMMY, MOMMY!!! The water is coming out of the toilet!! OI! I guess don't use and don't flush are teo different things to a 4 year old.

In afternoon we went to the berry patch and picked berries. The girls love going here. I think its more for the milk shake and the sand box we use after we are done picking but they were pretty excited about picking too. We picked raspberries first. They don't have any thorns so its easy for the girls to do. The rows are big so I could get the stroller down and Kaylum happily watched us. Then we tried our hand at strawberries. I hadn't done this before. And I have to say, I like raspberry picking better! LOL! In the end we got 10 lbs of strawberries and 4 1/2 raspberries. All that fresh air must have wiped all 3 out as they had great naps. They all fell asleep in the van and I left them there when we got home. Thanks goodness for garages! The girls ended up coming in and laying on the couch but Kaylum slept a good hour and a half out there. It was his best nap in days. I am thinking of installing a car seat into his bedroom so he will sleep at night! LOL!

In the evening we grabbed a couple pizza's for dinner and headed to our favorite park with my sister for a picnic. We do this quite often in the summer. What's good about the park is it is well shaded, perfect for a hot summer evening. But not tonight. It was so windy that it was cold in the shade. We had a little walk but it really was too chilly to enjoy it. After the park we hit the White Spot for some dessert. My sister had a craving for blueberry pie. But there wasn't any due to the season being late. But we still found some yummy stuff to eat!
