Happy Halloween!

I am wishing you all a very happy, safe, fun and DRY(as in rain, not necessarily alcohol) Halloween!!

I have lots of updating to do and I am falling behind. We have been busy here! A trip to Vegas and lots of Halloween festivities have kept us busy. Tomorrow a newborn shoot and a new work truck! Oh yeah and CANDY!!

Pumpkins 'N Leaves

Today we spent the afternoon at the pumpkin patch celebrating a 5th birthday. The day was beautiful and sunny, perfect! Not too muddy, as long as you stayed in the right places. Kaylum really enjoyed exploring the pumpkins. We lost his boot and let me tell you, a navy boot is hard to find in the rotting vines, but I did!! The girls picked out 2 pumpkins. We have another trip Tuesday, so we'll grab a few more then.




When we got home we raked up the leaves in the front yard and Kylie and Kaylum played in them. Until we found some cat poo! YUCK!!! Kaylum just loved this, it was his first leaf pile. He loved the rake. Keira missed out on the fun, she was napping in the van.

Happy Birthday to Me!

On Saturday I celebrated my birthday by attending a photography seminar, ALL DAY! I'm talking 13 hours of seminar! It was great. My Dad came and I met up with my photog chicks and we had a great day full of inspiration and breath taking images. On the dinner break, Dad treated me to a sushi dinner and we attended the evening program hoping to score some great prizes. We didn't win anything, but we were in awe of the main speaker, Darrel Gulin's work! This man is amazing!
He travels the world photographing all sorts of animals and people and he also grows butterflies in his kitchen for photographing! If you get a chance, check out his work, you won't be disappointed!

The kids managed to stay up until I got home. I was surprised to see Kaylum, I didn't think he would make it, but he did! They were so excited to give me their presents. Things they thought of all on their own! And they were great ideas! I really got spoiled.

Keira was insistant that she get me a mug. And what a great choice!

Sean said Kylie could only get this if she used it to massage me! The girls have already run the batteries out, using it on themselves!

Kaylum knows the way to Mommy's heart!!

New Paint

You may remember that we got new counters in our kitchen in April. Well we finally got the kitchen and family room painted last week. We are so impressed and are so happy with the results. I can't believe it took us so long to get it done!

Divorce

My sister recently became officially divorced. So what did we do? We ordered a cake from Shawna, got some champagne, she put on her wedding dress and we went to the park for a fun photo shoot!

Silly Boy

Kaylum is in love with the pot cupboard. He often pulls the pots out and drags them around. Sometimes he and his sisters start a band up and bang around the kitchen, hello, EARPLUGS! Well on Monday, I turn around and there he is sitting in the pull out! So what do I do, grab the camera of course!

This morning when I went to get him dressed, his diaper had come undone on one side. Luckily all contents remained inside. I said to Kaylum., "Who did this?" He replied, "DA-DA!" Which is funny cuz Sean did get him ready for bed last night............

All Done

Well its been a week on no nursing, so I guess we are officially done.
I am really proud that we went as long as we did: 1 year and 2 days!! I always wanted to go that long with the girls but only made it to 8 months with Kylie and 5 with Keira. But with them, I was done. With Kaylum I didn't mind it going to a year. I did mind a bit when he would stand on me while still attached. LOL!

I really enjoyed the nursing relationship Kaylum and I had, maybe because I feel I really got it right the third time around, I don't know. But this time it felt easy. I didn't mind "whipping" out my boob wherever and whenever. I didn't care who was looking (really what were you going to see, Mr Pervey guy in the mall) and I didn't care how long he nursed for or how often.

I will miss the cuddle time with him. The nice quiet get aways to my room where I could have some down time with him. I also got a lot of reading done. He's not that cuddly anymore, too much to do, and that makes me a little sad. But I am also happy to move on and have my body back and have "things" get back to normal again.

Big Boy

Yesterday was Kaylum's 1 year immunizations. 4 painfull shots in the leg! OUCH! He was really good for the first 2 and cried for the next 2. But he got over it fairly quickly. He was a little grumpy and pretty sleepy for the rest of the day.
He now weighs 27 lbs and is 32" long! What a big boy!

Piper

I love catching her with her tongue out. It usually happens when she has been sleeping. She is missing a lot of teeth so it tends to fall out like this sometimes. Although today was the furthest out I have ever seen it!
