Little Artist

Kylie loves to draw and write. Its so amazing how she has improved this year with her drawing, printing and spelling. Its often the first thing she does when she gets home from school. She whips out the paper and crayons/felts/pencils and gets busy. She writes little stories, poems or songs. And loves drawing our family, riding horses, living in igloos, standing out front our house or under rainbows.

Here is a poem she did this week.

This one I have hanging up on the computer desk.

I can remember my sister writing and drawing on EVERY piece of paper she could get her hands on when we were kids. Kylie has inherited the same trait.
The other night I went into my bedroom and found this little note on my dresser.
Its still there :o)

Its Up! Finally!

In April we had Kaylum's 6 month photos taken by Jill and last week, I finally got one framed to hang with his sisters when they were 6 months. Yes, that's right, Kaylum is now 16 months old.

I picked it up today and I love it! I wish I could have had the girls done Jillian Kirby style when they were 6 months old.

So here it is hanging in our hallway. Its not the best shot, I didn't have a lot of room, but you get the idea. I think I may skootch them closer together when the hallway gets painted. But for now, the wall is complete!

Dad's Birthday

My Dad's birthday was on Monday and tonight we celebrated at one of our favorite resturants! They were closed Monday so we put our celebration off a day. And boy was it worth it! After dinner we came back to our house for cake and prezzies!

Kylie took this one!

Dad's best buddy

The yummy carrot cake I made.

Kaylum loooooves cake. He can even say Happy Birthday!
That's what he calls cake!

Hamburger Head

Nothing's worse that you kiddo getting hurt cuz you are absent minded. Poor Kaylum, he has a hamburger head. He fell out of his car seat onto the cement. I had my arms full of him and other various items when we left dance class. I stuck him in his seat and went to put the rest of the stuff down when I heard this awful thud. And there he was laying on the cement crying. Oh, I still feel horrible about it. He had quite a goose egg on his head. But it was gone come morning. He's so tough, I was washing it out in the bath and he just sat there playing. Poor Mr. Baby.

Busy Weekend

A busy and fun weekend seems to make Monday feel worse.

The sun finally came out this weekend and it was soooo great to feel it after that horrible snow and the gross rain that followed.

We hit the zoo to soak up that vitamin D, get some colour and visit our chilly animal friends.

Kisses from the baby giraffe!

Ride 'em!

Exploring the frozen pond

Oooohhhmmmmnnn
I love how Lemurs sun themselves!

This is a new guy to the zoo. The arctic foxes arrived at the end of summer to the zoo and they were a grey colour. Now they are all white and probably the only ones in town that are loving all the snow we got!

I love that Kaylum holds our hand when we walk with him now.

Saturday night was girls night. It was my friend M's 40th birthday so 6 of us left our hubbies and kids behind and hit the town! We headed to the Red Robinson Show Theatre to see Margaret Cho. It was a very funny show and we all enjoyed to comp. tickets and the meet and greet!!!

Here we are with Margaret

Margaret and her opening act Ian Harvie (I'm not sure who the other girl is)

I am not really sure why or how. This was all Daddy.

Sunday night our good friends from the island joined us for dinner. We haven't seen them since August and really wished our visit was longer. I guess we will have to make a trip over soon!
Their daughter is 3 1/2 and the girls all get along so well.

All cuddled up watching a movie

Big Sisters

Now I never had a little brother, but I always imagined this is what life as a little brother would be like.

I love how he opens his mouth for application!

Look how Keira is rolling her eyes at Kaylum. She thinks he's so silly. Notice the necklace collection!

Day Timer

Well I was a little crafty yesterday. After I read a post in Shawna's blog about her day timer make over it inspired me to do my own. So as per Shawna's request, here it is!

I used scrapbooking paper and a ceral box instead but it works great for a cheap-o Costco day timer (6.97 for 2!!) . I am filling it up with photo session appointments!!

Too Many Resturants

I think we may eat out too much.

Last night I asked Keira to set the table and when I sat down to eat, this is what I saw!
Sean and I had a good chuckle about this. And I said, perhaps we eat out too much! Keira was very proud of how she "wrapped" (I say squished) our napkins around our forks!

For Better or Worse

Kylie was looking through an old For Better or Worse book of my parent's there other day, and I was having a quick look when she was having a bath and I came across this strip.

I can sooooo relate to this! I looked at the front of the book to see when it was published, 1981. Its kind of interesting how these strips appealed to my parents 28 years ago, how they are ringing true for me and my family and how things really don't change!

That Shirt

Do you have a shirt that you love to wear but every time you do, something lands on it?
Now its not because you wear it a lot, it just happens.
I have a shirt like that, its white (figures), one of the cute princess cut ones. And every time I wear it, I get something on it. Usually coffee. Yesterday it was coffee AND blue watercolour paint. UGH! So its going through its second stain removing session, the coffee came out, but that blue paint hasn't.

Happy New Year!

Well we are all a little tired of the amount of snow that we have around here. We woke up this morning to a few more centimeters. It hasn't been very good for making snow men. But the girls and Sean finally got one made yesterday after he finished shoveling. And then it snowed on the poor guy! I don't think that has happened before. The girls thought they lost his "features" but they were just covered up!
I hope it goes soon. Our big, heavy metal snow shovel is starting to see the end of its days and there are no light, plastic shovels in sight!!
